Cute!
I rarely write reviews but this book is terrible. The art is pretty... and I bought this based on the good reviews however the writing is just really bad. We didn’t watch the Disney movie, this Golden book version is so abridged to a point it barely makes sense(same with the Moana golden book.. but that one is slightly better). We have the classic collection of golden books so I am used to stories that can stand on their own, and this isn’t it. I can’t stand reading this to my daughter... I pretty much make up the story as I go so I don’t have to read it as it was printed. It’s that bad.
I purchased this book as a present for my 10 year old. Her favorite princess is Tiana. It is WAY below reading level for a 10 year old, but my daughter loves art and was very pleased at the stylized pictures in the book. I was happy that I could get her something she liked that matched her younger sisters' presents. Without the art deco-ish art this would have been an inappropriate present. I'm glad that Disney decided to do something different from their other Golden Books that made this entry more interesting.
