I liked the characters but the many explicit sex scenes and the profanity was off putting. I will think twice before I buy this author again.
This started out interesting with the way Evan and Randi connected via email. The Sinclair men are so intense.

Both Evan and Randi had such painful backgrounds, it seems only natural they would be drawn to each other. The sex seemed to be more of a dominant feature in this book, but, I took it as a way two broken people could be close while they learned to move beyond the physical.

Although these are standalone books, I feel like you need to read them in order so that you will get the full effect.

I read Grady's book, and Dante's book. Somehow I managed to miss Book 2, which is Jared's. So, I feel like I was missing something reading Evan and Randi's book.

Still an interesting read, but I skimmed through some of the sex scenes because they became a tad repetitive and boring.

Out of all the books in this series I’ve enjoyed this one the most! It features Evan, a billionaire, who is stiff, unemotional and guarded, and Randy, a schoolteacher, his polar opposite. The relationship starts off when she writes an email to his corporation asking for a donation for the community rec center. He responds (anonymously) with a rude reply that the request had already been filled. What develops between the two is an unlikely pen-pal relationship.
Evan is a man haunted by his past. Abused emotionally and physically as a child by his father, his life has become centered on achieving financial success and security and protecting his siblings. He does not have time for fun. Randy, a breath of fresh air, makes him want things he never dared to want before. Should he take a chance and risk his heart? Much like everything else he wants in his life, he decides to go after Randy. She chips away at his tough exterior one layer at a time until she reveals the heart of the man beneath. The physical chemistry between them is undeniable, but so is the emotional connection between them that grows stronger as each day passes.
This book is a treasure trove of wonderful subplots… Evans dyslexia and child abuse and child fostering to name a few. I thoroughly loved this book, and couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend it to others who love hot, love filled romance novels!
A sweet story, wounded and guarded soul for our hero, and I really don't think I would call him a hero, but our oldest brother and a giving and somewhat lost soul for his lady fare...The story starts out giving us a small back ground story which is perfect. And of course you can see where it's going to go, but not in an obvious way, but in a nice walk down a winding path into a family we know have grown to understand, as we have also realized has had to deal with a life time of pain from a horrible awful no good very bad father.

I liked Evan from the first time I met him in the earlier books, maybe because you knew there was a strong story behind the strong man. He is all that big brother protective guy we all know, but the depth of his issue if you will is unexpected. Randi is a great gal and good friend like so many teachers she finally see's Evan for what he deeply is, a lost and hurt boy. They fit well together and in so many ways don't really see it themselves at first even when others do.

This is where I'm going to say, yes you can read this book alone without having read the other books, but why do that to your self. Each book in the series cannot help but build upon the other. go meet all the brothers..so stop and go grab book 1 first.

How do I say this without giving away the story...well here goes. The author hit on so many real levels about the issue that Evan has had to live with his whole life and how he has made things work for him successfully. There are so many great programs out there for kids to help with this process, but when it comes to being an adult with this issue and dealing with the work place it's not an easy road and is often ended due to the issues.

As the saying goes' when God gives us a challenge He often blesses us with other strengths. IT's finding those strengths, living with the high they give us and learning that the issues that make us different do not make us broken or dumb. We all learn to over compensate for our weaknesses, to hid them and at times laugh at them to help the hurt or disappointment go away. To quote a friend when she said ---"Just once I would like to write something without it being an issue at work or be on a deadline that works out or that did not get messed up or confused, cause I missed it in my review of what needed to happen and when it needed to happen. How dumb do I feel when things like this happens."

Your description of Evan was often on point to how a person deals with or learns to deal with this life long issue. But also the emotional stress that follows you all your life.
Evan the arrogant Sinclair brother finally has met his match. Randi is feisty and determined not to intimidated by Evan. Randi sends and email to the Sinclair foundation asking for help with the Center and 2 months later a response comes. Little does Evan or Randi know they are emailing each other. Loved learning more about Evan and his disability. Randi shows Evan that there is more to life than money. Wonderful heartwarming story. Definitely a must read!!!
