This book was cute and full of Italian clichés and stereotypes from the names that sounded like they were fresh from the latest mobster movie, the little Italian grandma with the stink eye, the Catholic guilt and naturally the mob hit references.

Paige Lombardi and Jeff Benedetto did the mommy-daddy dance three years ago and then bam - he left her the next day and she never heard from him again. Bad Jeff!

Now Jeff's sister and Paige's best friend Gina has up disappeared, but not before leaving her young son Justin in Paige's care. Yikes what was Gina thinking - Paige doesn't know the first thing about looking after a baby. While trying to track Gina down to give her back the little bundle of joy, Paige runs smack dab into Jeff - who's being held at gunpoint by a gumba. Through a series of convoluted events, Jeff, Paige and baby Justin barely escape and are forced to hide out until they can figure out where Gina is and what exactly is going on. Their enforced imprisonment has them asking the hard questions about what happened between them three years ago. Seems like they both have a lot of unresolved feelings for one another.

If there's one thing that was clear early on was that these two paisanos were ill-equipped to handle an itty-bitty baby. And bambino Justin had an amazing sense of baby interuptus on more than one occasion.

There were some very funny LOL moments including a grocery store excursion, a poopie diaper (seriously 20 minutes for two people to change it?) and a leather couch and bare skin *wink*. This book had a madcap feel to it a la Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.

That's Amore had me smiling and laughing more than once and it was the perfect read to while away a few hours at the gym to help keep my mind off exercising and counting down the minutes

That Amore edition by Erin McCarthy Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

there is no story. the hero is a jerk and he had lame excuses for his action. the heroine is whimpy pathetic woman. she did not have any pride. after what the hero did she made some very stupid confessions.
This is a wonderfully funny romance book, with characters that just about anyone can identify with. I am looking forward to reading the follow up stories on the other Benedetto family members!!
After a small wait Erin comes back strong. That's Amore will pull at your heart and make you laugh out loud.It also makes you thankful for good friends and your family, no matter how CRAZY they are. Love it!!!!!!
This was a fun book, not real deep, but an enjoyable way to spend a few hours, which is the reason I read books!
This story requires some suspension of belief, for sure.
What a great new release by Erin McCarthy. I have read every one of her books to date and was thrilled to find out she had a new release of one of her first stories not yet published. It was, by far, one of the funniest stories I have had the pleasure of reading in years . . . it equaled if not surpassed Janet Evanovich's humor. The story was quite believable for me as I was raised in somewhat the same kind of neighborhood where this takes place along with having some of the same experiences while taking care of a friend's baby before having one of my own (what a trip!). A real steal at $1.99 through . I have paid four times this price for 300 page books that I didn't enjoy nearly as much as I enjoyed this one. Or course, I've never been disappointed with any of her books or short stories! For me, this one was her most humorous. Thanks, Erin, for another wonderful read!
I love Erin McCarthy's books. She is an excellent write with her romance and Paranormal romances. I would recommend any of her books.
This story was cute, but not anywhere near some of Ms. McCarthy's other books. I guess at the price, it was a good read. Story was about Paige and Jeff, who are raised in a traditional Italian background and community. There is some stereotyping and cliches, but overall the story was ok. Paige woke up to a baby crying in her apartment. The baby was Gina's (her best friend since elementary school) and it said to watch him. Paige did not do babies, she knew nothing about them. She tries to locate her friend and goes to her work. At her friend's work, she runs into Jeff (Gina's brother) and also Paige's old crush. Paige had a major crush on him three years ago until she gave him her heart and body for the first time. Jeff left her the next day and has never talked to her since. When she gets there looking for Gina, Jeff is being threatened by a mobster (who happened to kidnap Gina) and soon they are both fleeing with baby in tow. Neither of them knew how to care for a baby, so that was quite entertaining and cute. Forced into hiding, they get to talk and spend time together. Will they clear the air? Will she forgive him? What happened to Gina? Why did Jeff never call three years ago?

Plot was not very solid and a bit shallow, but story was still entertaining. Banter between characters was funny and quite entertaining. Overall, it was a fun read considering it was on sale.
